Production techniques for fiberglass grating panels

There are three main types of production processes for fiberglass grating: reciprocating fiber winding process, continuous fiber winding process, and centrifugal casting process.

There are three main types of production processes for fiberglass grating: reciprocating fiber winding process, continuous fiber winding process, and centrifugal casting process. 1、 Reciprocating fiber winding process (belonging to the fixed length method): In this process, the dipping groove moves back and forth with the rotating core mold, and the long fiber glass filament is placed at a certain angle relative to the core mold axis. The auxiliary angle (i.e. winding angle) is controlled by the ratio of the moving speed of the dipping groove to the core mold speed, and the translational motion of the dipping groove is controlled by computerized mechanical electrical control. The number of winding layers gradually increases until the designed wall thickness is reached. After the winding is completed, the resin in the product is basically cured.

1、 Reciprocating fiber winding process (belonging to the fixed length method): In this process, the dipping groove moves back and forth with the rotating core mold, and the long fiber glass filament is placed at a certain angle relative to the core mold axis. After curing, remove the core mold from the fiberglass tube.


2、 Continuous fiber winding process (belonging to the continuous method): This process involves the pipe passing through a feeding station that supplies a mixture of resin pre impregnated untwisted yarn, short cut fiberglass fibers, and resin sand during movement. The pipe is made by continuously advancing the core mold.


3、 Centrifugal casting process (belonging to the fixed length method): In this process, cut glass fiber reinforced material and sand are fed into a steel mold fixed on the bearing. Unsaturated resin with catalyst is injected into one end of the steel mold to impregnate the reinforced material. Under the action of centrifugal force, the resin replaces the air in the fibers and fillers, thus producing a dense composite material without pores. Due to the centrifugal force, a smooth and smooth resin rich inner surface layer is formed on the inner wall of the pipe, and the pipe is cured at higher temperatures. The pipe manufactured by this method is also known as fiberglass sand pipe.


At present, there are many manufacturers in the world that use the reciprocating fiber winding process to produce pipes compared to the other two production processes. One of the reasons is that the fiberglass pipes manufactured by the reciprocating fiber winding process have a wider range of uses and better applicability.
